Shoes (enough said)
Shoes! To some brides the shoes are almost more important than the dress. This is the time to splurge on an amazing pair of shoes, but remember... You're committing the rest of your life to your future husband, you don't have to commit your entire wedding day to one pair of shoes!
It's always a really really good idea to bring a backup pair... Or even two backup pairs! Once you start to feel those blisters forming or you stop feeling comfortable ditch them. And by ditch them I mean... carefully put them back in their respective shoe box and save them for date night or something that requires fancy shoes.
If you're tall don't fear flats! Most brides feel like they have to wear heels, but flats are an amazing alternative. Why? Because they're comfortable! And no one sees them under your dress anyway. A great bridesmaid gift is a super comfortable pair of flats btw. That way the bride can show how much she cares and how considerate she is... And the bridesmaids all have super cute matching flats for the reception! Win win.
I love this! This is really really considerate and such a cute idea. That way your guests can be comfortable on the dance floor without having to go barefoot! And flip-flops won't break the bank so it's a really fun (and affordable) party favor!
Break your shoes in! Yes, I know... They're in pristine condition right now and you don't want to get them dirty. And hey-- maybe if you're lucky your feet will still be in pristine condition at the end of the night... But it's unlikely. Make sure you really get to know how these shoes feel on your feet well before the wedding. If they're a little snug in certain places make sure your backup pair won't rub in those spots. You can also buy little inserts you can stick in there to make them more comfortable. ***If pre-wedding shoe pictures are important to you don't adhere the little gel inserts before pictures are taken. Otherwise your shoes will look a little goofy.
When picking out shoes remember to think of the length of your dress! When switching from heels to flats make sure that your dress won't be too long.
I love these Badgley Mischka wedges! This bride was really smart and realized that with an outdoor wedding wedges were the way to go. Otherwise she would spend the day trying to avoid sinking into the grass. These turned out to be the perfect alternative.
These Jimmy Choo's have a pretty funny story. The bride found them at Nordstrom Rack for a fraction of the price. We were so excited to take a million pictures of these gorgeous shoes... And then the bride ended up wearing really comfortable sandals! That's the benefit of wearing a wedding dress.. No one REALLY knows what shoes you're wearing.
When it really comes down to it, know you have a comfortable backup. The ice in your champagne bucket shouldn't be used to ice your feet at the end of the night! That's where your champagne lives.
